Happily Waiting for Forever

In the beginning of the classic book, Great Expectations, a rich woman is described who wear the wedding dress she wore when her groom-to-be dumped her and left her unmarried and heartbroken. As the years have passed, she wears the same dress, one shoe on, one shoe off, and all the clocks are stopped at the exact time when it happened.

In other words, while dust and decay and mold have grown everywhere else on her property, she still relives those days of heartache, over and over, stuck in time, as if nothing had changed in all of those years. But, in fact, time itself would not wait for her heart to heal, and in the beginning of Great Expectations, she is now an old, rich woman, wearing a yellowed wedding dress, one stocking worn down to nothing, and the other yellowed and stiff, never having been worn.
She is, happily or unhappily, waiting for forever.

What would you do if you were given the gift of eternal life? What would you do if you were given the gift of biological immortality on this earth, in this lifetime? The question is a good one, for it becomes one of increased interest as we age. What are priorities now that we didn’t have twenty years ago? Is everything as you expected it would be when you were all grown up?

And this… this life… this existence of human flesh and bone, of hearts leaping with joy or breaking over lost loves, of mortality and decay, this life is all we have. What will you do with your time? Your business funds your dreams, your vacations, and your time with your family. Without it, you would not be able to do anything worthwhile that you wanted to do. Therefore, utilize employee drug testing and make sure that all of your workers are up to snuff. Make sure that your drug test kits come from CMM Technology, that your oral fluid drug tests include our popular Alere DDS2 saliva drug test (with reader), and make sure that you have access to our NATA accredited breathalyser recalibration services.
